Operations
Managed the safety, environment, quality and
productivity of a plant in Owensboro, KY producing over $67 million in
sales and simultaneously leading a remote aluminum foundry operation
located in Nashville, Tennessee. Implemented Continuous Flow Manufacturing
(CFM) which helped to reduce cycle time by three days and inventory by $6
million. Established Max Queues, Trigger systems, KanBans and visual
indicators of production attainment. Reduced cycle time by 75% and
inventory by $4.5 million (64% increase in turns). Managed a 60% increase
in production while closing a foundry, resulting in a $500K yearly
savings. Negotiated 85% reduction in job classifications (54 to 8) with
union in order to improve flexibility.

Management Program
Recruited to join General Electric’s MMP
program, a renowned rotational management development program designed for
fast track operation leaders. This program combined two years of
formalized training with four, six-month rotational assignments in two GE
businesses (Defense Systems and Industrial Motors). Job rotations
included: Supervisor, Assembly (1/90-6/90); Technical Specialist
(Transition Team) (7/89-12/89); Supervisor, Systems Test/Main Inspection
(1/89-6/89); and Quality Assurance Engineer (6/88-12/88).
